Weddings
The Imperial Rooms in Matlock are the perfect venue to your special day and are licensed to hold both weddings and civil ceremonies. They also provide the ideal venue for your wedding breakfast and evening reception.
Built in 1912 as a united Methodist Free Church, the Imperial Rooms are housed in a unique and beautiful historic building in the centre of Matlock, with car parks, local services and Hall Leys Park on our doorstep. Local Bed and Breakfasts and Hotels provide excellent high standard accommodation for your guests to stay in style while you celebrate your special day.
Your Matlock wedding, your way
There are two rooms available for wedding hire either separately or together and you can have exclusive use of the venue and the car parking outside. The Riber Room (for up to 100 people) and the Derwent Hall with a full stage (for up to 300 people).
The Imperial Rooms can offer you flexibility and the option of hiring both rooms (including small well equipped kitchens), one for the ceremony and the other for your reception.
The Imperial Rooms provide a blank canvass for your perfect wedding venue- your Matlock wedding, your way. You are welcome to decorate the rooms in your own style and the Council team can help you by providing information about local caterers, florists and other businesses.
Hire Charges
The Imperial Rooms can be your exclusive wedding venue, for 12 hours, at the cost of £1,000. Or for the ceremony only (2 hours) the cost is: £200 for the Riber Room and £300 for the Derwent Hall. Hire charges include the use of chairs and tables.
