Matlock Photographer of the Year 2020 – winners announced

The Council were delighted with the number and quality of entries into the 2020 Matlock Photographer of the Year competition.  The theme of the competition was ‘Derbyshire Wildlife’ which was very apt at a time when many of us had a little more time to stop and appreciate the beautiful, nature rich area in which we live. 

The Council chose Mike Swain with his wonderful close up image of a Blue Tit taken at Ogston Reservoir as the winner of the adult category.  Mike was delighted to win and thanked the Council for organizing the competition.

There were joint winners in the Junior category.  Megan Dodds (age 12) and Milly Dodds (age 8).  Both girls submitted lovely photos of wildlife seen on their local walks.

When coronavirus guidance allows all winners will be invited to receive their prizes from the Council in person.
